Smart trike scooter review - road testing the SmarTrike T3 scooter for age 2+
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

We were very kindly sent a brand new SmarTrike T3 Scooter to try out and review. This was perfect for toddler H, who had just turned 2. A few of Toddler H’s friends got scooters for their 2nd birthdays, and so really 2 seems a perfect age for one. I hope this scooter review does help others….

With Christmas approaching I had started researching scooters, and must say I was a bit lost. Mum Muddling Through had recommended the Micro Scooter, however on that same day I received an email offering me the SmarTrike to road test. I absolutely did not hesitate in saying yes. It looked like a brilliant product, and knowing how sturdy Toddler H’s own Smart Trike trike is and that they are the market leaders, I was sure they would never ever make a scooter that didn’t uphold those same values. Having had the scooter for a few weeks now, I can firmly say it is robust, durable and a brilliant brilliant scooter. I 100% recommend the SmarTrike scooter without hesitation – the number guru in me won’t let me give it more than 100%… but I would if I could!

So, I’ll stop blabbering and here is a bit more info about the actual scooter…

SmarTrike Scooter Review

The SmarTrike T3 scooter is from age 2+, and,

  • It comes in purple and blue
  • Two-modes for scooting – beginners and advanced
  • Tilting handle bar with soft-touch rubber handles (they seem very grip-able!)
  • “TPR rubber surface footplate” (- it does seem grippy even with H’s muddy feet!)
  • Back foot brake

SmarTrike also cater for younger and older kids with the:

  • T1 Scooter which has two modes (seat and no seat) and is suitable from age 15 months
  • T5 Scooter which has a telescopic handle bar suitable from age 3+

The actual scooter

Here is our T3 scooter fresh in the box:

H playing on Christmas day. We didn’t show it to her until Christmas day, as we couldn’t give it to her days before Christmas otherwise she’d throw tantrums left right and centre for presents every day. She throws enough chocolate coin tantrums, and she only had a couple of them a week in her calendar!

Out and about:

As you’ll have noticed on my Instagram, we took it for a real road test at Westonbirt Arboretum at the weekend to give her a chance to try it outside…

She LOVED it. Like, really really loves it. She wants to play on it constantly. I’m pretty sure she must dream about it.

We actually saw her friend in the park just before New Year, and Toddler H loved her friend’s scooter – they chatted away about their scooters (we think) and then after we got home, and on the way home, she didn’t stop talking about taking her scooter to play with her friend at the park. It was very cute, and something we probably should have arranged! If she can go on about things to this extent already, I dread to think what we’re in for in the years ahead.

Anyway, as I mentioned at the start, I completely and utterly recommend the Smart Trike T3 scooter, like the SmarTrike trikes, it seems durable and very well built to last, and my toddler absolutely loves it. #mummywin

An update: Since I wrote this scooter review, the scooter now lives in our car and Toddler H still requests it almost daily. Most of all she is really really good on it. It’s so easy  for her, even at just 26 months old, to use. She has so much growth room left and I predict it will keep on featuring in my Instagram and future blog posts for a long time to come.

Have you tried the SmarTrike scooter?

Lynne x
