The SAHM Friday Afternoon Countdown

Life with a toddler
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

I’m just home from a fabulous baby play date. We had the most yummy soup, us mummies had a brilliant catch up and the toddlers (I so typed babies, but they’re everywhere, so I can’t call them that anymore) had a blast.

So now I’m sat at home, baby is asleep in the pushchair, and I’m absolutely exhausted. I’ve got a big cup of tea, a KitKat watching utter rubbish on Netflix -Gossip Girl, if you’re wondering! Yes, this 30-something mummy is resorting to teenage rubbish, feet up on the sofa, counting the moments until:

  1. Toddler wakes up (please be another hour???)
  2. Hubby gets home
  3. Wine o’clock
  4. Bedtime

SAHM’s are you with me? Do you have the same Friday afternoon countdown?

Yup, pretty much! I was also watching Gossip Girl for a while, but now there are new episodes of Pretty Little Liars on Netflix, so I need to get on that. Just the kind of TV a 33-year-old mum should be watching. #TheBabyFormula

I live for 5pm on a Friday night, it’s the only thing that drives me through the week! Next week my husband is away for an entire week (working in Austria) and I am riding solo with all four of them. God help me!!!! #TheBabyFormula

Some days I count down from when I wake up. Usually after a sleepless night and waking up to angry little baby beasts. But other days my countdown is like yours, except without the nap. I’m not that lucky anymore, eek!

Awwww I know exactly what you mean on those days! Oh, I dread when we loose the nap. Today she didn’t nap til 5.30, for an hour, and she still went to bed at 7.30 so she definitely still needs it. X
