What2buy4kids featuring in this week's #mummyinbusiness guest series

1. Tell us about your business?

I started my business 7 years ago, from my dining room in my house. From there, I set up my website what2buy4kids which sells good quality toys and gifts for kids. To begin with I did everything myself from buying in the stock, to picking and packing the orders. As my business grew, I had to take on some staff to help me, and last year I moved my business from home into new offices, with a large warehouse attached. I have also just opened my first shop on the high street!

2. Where do you deliver?

We deliver mostly to the UK, but we also can deliver to the rest of the world, with the exceptions of USA and Canada.

3. Price range?

We sell toys and gifts starting from as little as £1.50. Most of our gifts are under £10, but we do sell lots of toys in the £20 – £50 price bracket. We do have a few toys that are over £100, so there really is something for everyone.

4. Why did you decide to start your business?

I started my business, when I became frustrated at not being able to find good quality, but reasonably priced, toys for my kids to take to birthday parties. Before having my kids, I was an early years and primary school teacher, so I was also determined to find fun toys that were educational too!

5. What are your top tips to other mummy’s thinking about starting a business?

My top tip is to do something you enjoy and are passionate about – then it really won’t ever seem like you are actually working!!! I see my business more as a hobby. I also try to challenge myself each day by taking on something new and exciting.

So lovely readers, I hope you enjoyed reading and have a few minutes to pop over to follow Lisa’s pages?
