So, I realised I think the same things when Baby H starts crying for a night feed…

1. Crying = the instinct thought of “She’s early/wow it’s 4am/not again!”

2. While feeding, “she definitely IS hungry“, I always always always have this thought! Weird!

3. “Ahhhh she’s asleep, she’s so peaceful“, the love is flowing for my little baby who is now sound asleep in my arms

4. “Whew, ahhhhh” – I managed to put her in her cot and she’s still asleep

5. “Go, bed” – then I do a crazy big stepped, crouching manouver to sneak out in as few steps as possible

6. There is no 6, I appear to have developed a lovely ability to fall straight asleep without another thought, unless the occasional, ‘how did he sleep though THAT‘ counts?

Of course, there is the occasional “I’m so tired”, “I’m falling asleep”, “hurry up H”!

Now, I need a cup of tea, and a nap,
Happy Sunday everyone!

Lynne xx

I am 2 years after this phase and yet still seems like yesterday. I’m still not getting much sleep but that involves soothing nightmares and not my breast/ warming bottles.

I remember this! When I was breastfeeding my son at night I mastered the art of being half asleep half awake =P

Yes! That half awake half asleep trance is something I don’t think you experience before middle of the night feeding.

It’s brilliant isn’t it! I really should video it one day so we can look back at it in 20 years 🙂

Aah bless you Lynne!! I remember those days!! I’d have one twin on each boob and all SORTS of things would run through my mind!! I *hated* that time in the morning — my mind would play tricks on me — things always seem so much worse at silly o clock! Everything looks so much better in the cold light of day!! Stick with it! It will be over before you know it!! 🙂 Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday — hope to see you again next week! x

Ha ha! I can’t believe you think at all! I normally stumble to her room, feed her and stumble back to bed. Very little thought involved! Thanks for linking up to #TheList x

I remembered this the few days and months after giving birth, it was a nightmare waking up middle of the night to breastfed a baby or baby just constantly crying… I’m glad it’s all over now. #TheBabyFormula
