I missed last week’s Happy List, but I think I had a good excuse, we were on a long weekend holiday in Hampshire/Dorset.

This week’s happy list is for the last two weeks…

1. Family time

We had a lovely break visiting Peppa Pig World, Weymouth Sea Life Centre and Caribbean Cove playground, playing at the beach, discovering Toddler H is still scared of the sea (but not the beach!), swimming, and just having ‘us’ time.

2. Peppa Pig World

As Toddler H’s birthday in December attested to she’s a Peppa Pig fan. Hubby and I was super excited to take her to Peppa Pig World and wants to go before Baby #2 arrives so it’s all H’s experience. It was brilliant, but we do wish we’d got passes for 2 days – we didn’t have time for The dinosaurs in The Lost Kingdom. Next time!!

3. Weymouth Sea Life Centre

We were very kindly invited to a preview of Caribbean Cove, a new playground at Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park. We had a brilliant time, and also enjoyed the sea life too (post on that coming soon). Caribbean Cove play area opens today (1st April) and is definitely worth a visit!

4. 30 weeks pregnant

I wrote a couple of weeks ago how I’d measured a bit small at my 28 week appointment, well I was back at the midwife this week and now measured 29cm, so only one out. Very scarily though my next appointment isn’t until 34 weeks! Eeeeeekk!

5. Nesting

My nesting need has kicked in and this morning, instead of writing this post I blitzed the spare room -it’s not sorted yet, but closer! I also cleared out under the stairs and listed quite a few clothes on our local Facebook pages before I charity shop them.

6. Friends and toddler friends (and coffee!)

I have to mention how grateful j am to my friends, both NCT friends who often meet at the drop of a hat for a coffee (particularly at our new haut the Gloucester Service Station!) where there is a brilliant kids play area (and coffee!!), and my friend E, who turned up yesterday with two takeaway coffees. I definitely find play dates and coffee are a major help this pregnancy!

7. Some potty success

We lost the potty training success a few weeks ago when we went to Scotland and I just couldn’t stop every time H needed. We’re back on it this week as she screams so much in he car seat when she needs to go. She’d cracked it all those weeks ago and it was just the long car trip that screwed her up, so she gets really so upset. I’ve been brave this week and we have ventured out in her new Zoochini trainer pants, which we were sent to try… and every trip out so far has been a success! Her pink toilet is also still a huge hit (and has been throughout). We just need to keep going this time – fingers crossed!!

8. Mother’s Day

I had some lovely chocolates and a very appropriate Peppa Pig card from Toddler H. We had a lovely day with ice lollies, beach fun and a dinner at the caravan site, which wasn’t quite as successful as usual dinners but hey ho we had lovely harbour views.

Hope you all had a lovely two weeks and a lovely lovely Mother’s Day too,

Lynne xx
