We missed last week again because we were on holiday in The Lake District. We had a lovely time, relaxing with family and some much needed walking. Yes, I’m now 8 months pregnant (32 weeks!) so walks were a bit more on the short side than we usually would, an hour or so and not too steep. I’d forgotten how much I love a walking holiday. Toddler H also walked most of the time, only going in the carrier occasionally. She actually did a 4.5 mile walk with my parents and sister and walked the whole way, while hubby and I had a very nice lunch. #rockingmummylife all the way!

But first I have to mention our amazing daughter and her potty successes…

1. Potty successes

Toddler H had been refusing to wear a nappy the week before and so we were out and about with just pants on. She didn’t have one accident. Que our 5 hour drive to the Lakes and we were nervous but out some towels down and a potty training mat and away we went. One stop for a ‘I need a toilet’ and we arrived with no incidents. The whole week went the same way, no nappies and only one wee in a bush!

There’s a post on my top 10 essentials for potty training here and one on potty training tips too.

2. Family

We were staying in a cottage with my parents and sister, and it was lovely. Relaxing, lots of H to do and she loves having them on tap to play with too. She’s really missing them now we’re back home.

3. Birthday fun

We celebrated my mum’s 65th birthday while there and that was fun. It’s been years since I’ve seen her on her birthday (or Mother’s Day for that matter), but we took a banner, balloons, prosecco (and fake fizz for me!) and had a lovely day doing a boat trip and My dad cooker delicious steak for dinner.

4. First ever boat trip

H loved it, and so did we!

5. Play doh

We were sent a new Play Doh set Noodle Makin’ Mania and H loves it, she played it every day before our holiday and as soon as we got home!

6. Tots 100

I seem to have climbed up a few more places to 139 in the Tots 100 rankings… I know I’ve been blogging more again so that must be why! Although I’m a bit unsure of all these ratings it is a nice hung to see, and does motivate me to keep going and not fall down!

7. Hubby

We had a lovely holiday and it was so nice for us to not always be the ones running after Toddler H. We also managed to sneak away for a lung on our own, and had a few hours wandering to Ambleside and a boat trip on Lake Windermere too.

8. Friends

We were let down by or usual bunny boarding and so one of our lovely friends looked after our bunnies while we were away. We’re so grateful and really glad her little one was so into the bunnies too.

9. Nesting

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but now we’re back home I’m eager to get our house sorted ready for baby ‘s arrival. I made huge progress the week before our holiday and so fingers crossed for some more this weekend.

I’m looking forward to being able to unpack our new Chicco Next 2 Me Dream crib!

10. Garden

We spent quite a bit of time in the garden just before our holiday and it was lovely. We’ve made so many changes since moving in 18 months ago and can see the end I sight… once the patio is levelled we’ll be on to flowers and plants galore!

That’s it for now, I’m sure there is lots more but for now, have a lovely happy Easter everyone,

Lynne x
