The Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2016

This is the second time we’ve ventured to the Cheltenham Jazz Festival and we loved it this time too. It has such a lovely atmosphere and so much yummy smelling food. I thought I’d just share a few photos from our visit this year….

Loads of yummy food stalls, from kangaroo and buffalo burgers, to Indian street food, Mexican, Carvery, Pizza, Crepes and more…. Most tastes are catered for!?

Of course there are a few bars too. I loved this huge tent with bunting!

It’s got such a lovely set up: these huge tulips adorned the sides of the Bottle Green area:

This is the main area: it has picnic benches, and loads of room for picnic blankets too. There is a lovely atmosphere, music drifting from the tents as well as chatting, laughing…. Something every mummy looks for: and lots of buggys, so you know it really is family friendly!

The big tent….

I have to of course include a photo of H clapping and dancing away to the music. Yes, even toddlers appreciate live jazz!

I really recommend a visit if you’re in the area. Both Cheltenham and the festival site itself are really good for families. There are even family and children events at the Jazz Festival and a play park in the Montpellier Gardens, where the festival is located. Mummy and daddy are also well catered for as there is so many food and drink tents, and even a coffee tent. In saying that, Montpellier Gardens has a Garden Cafe which is a permanent building with loads of outdoor seating and plenty of space for picnics, conveniently situated right beside the play park. It has lots of high chairs too #mummywin!

The Cheltenham Festival is on this year from 27th April until 2nd May. There are lots of amazing performances you can pay for, including Jamie Cullum (wish we had a babysitter!), but, there is also lots for free. There is free music in the ‘Montpellier Woods’ area which has picnic benches and loads of space, as well as on the Free Stage (located in the main area next to the coffee tent.

I definitely, 100% recommend a visit to Cheltenham and the Jazz Festival.

Have you been before? Do you have any tips?

I’m a huge fan of Cheltenham having been a student at the University there. I didn’t take advantage of the Jazz Festival though. I think I should have gone now I’ve read your post. #bestandworst

Ah I used to live in Cheltenham – in Montpellier and do miss all of the festivals! It’s such a lovely vibe and great for families. The festivals in Birmingham all seem a little too hectic to get to – but we really must venture out to events like these more often. xx #bestandworst
