You may have notice I gained a new badge on my side bar recently…. I’m now an ‘Official Orchard Toys Tester’! Now many of you will know how much we love Orchard toys, their toddler puzzles are brilliant and designed for children as young as 18 months. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you’ll have spotted H’s love of puzzles and learning: so far we have the Postbox colour matching game?and the Farmyard Dominos, as well as he brand new Once Upon A Time 3 piece puzzles, which we were kindly sent to try out. I thoroughly recommend them all!
Orchard toys toddler puzzles are just so well thought out, the Once Upon a Time puzzles are for age 2 plus (although Toddler H managed this straight away at 21 months), and consist of 3 pieces each: a head, legs and an ‘extra’. They’re also colour coordinated so each has it’s own background colour. All these factors really help a child learn and achieve!

The Once Upon A Time puzzle set contains 6 puzzles:

  • Cinderella and her pumpkin
  • Jack and his beanstalk
  • Dick Whittington and his cat
  • Aladdin and genie
  • Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf
  • Goldilocks and the three bears (well, in this case one bear!)

As you can see when our package arrived, H was THRILLED! She was so eager to get in, and within days was asking who the characters were. Her favourite is the Genie from Aladdin, she runs around with the piece saying ‘genee’!

Here are a few pictures of H playing with the pieces, and at 21 months, you can see she could already do it.

The pieces are all large and easy to put together, making it perfect for little hands. It’s easy to use and yes pictures are so cute too.

November 2016: 2 months later I’m just updating this post, as I wanted to say this is still one of Toddler H’s favourite games, and something she asks for most days. She did go through a phase of wanting to play with it several times a day, and would NOT let me tidy up he pieces. She must have been so proud of her work ?

Do you have any games which your toddlers love?

Lynne xx

PS. This definitely makes it into our top 10 gifts for toddlers 2016 which will be live later this week!
