Why it’s obvious I’m mummy to a toddler

Life with a toddler
Why it's obvious i'm mummy to a toddler by new mummy blog

You’re out for a walk, walking the dog, at the shops, running in the park, and you see me. At first glance I might appear odd, weird, a bit strange, but then it twigs, I’m just the mummy of a toddler!

?It comes with the toddler territory that I lead a slightly odd, slightly weird life…

  1. I cheer and clap at EVERYTHING
  2. I have a stooped back… oh wait you’ve just noticed I’m holding a toddler’s hand
  3. I’m the one stood blocking the path?with a bemused look on my face…. waiting on the sat down screaming toddler to stop tantruming
  4. I point at everything and say what it is
  5. I count everything: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 apples
  6. I’m hiding behind a door/menu/tree peaking around it, stuffing?chocolate in my mouth
  7. I eat super quick, one minute it’s there the next it’s?not
  8. I cram?whole biscuits in my mouth at once
  9. You hear us before you see us…. “car”, “brummm brummm”, “biiiiiird”, “not that way!”, “Please don’t do that it’s breakable!”, “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAA”
  10. I’m walking in circles/random directions/straight for the duck pond across a muddy field, my pram is abandoned in the middle of the park,?then you see more and spot?a?toddler on reins with FREEDOM!

This same walk to the park also provided my #WickedWednesday post this week which I’ve linked with BrummyMummyOf2…. check it out here.

So true. If my children are doing something they shouldn’t I do the counting to 3 thing. Not sure what happens when we get to 3!

Haha, brilliant! And all so true. The other day we went to Nandos and I spent at least 20 minutes chasing Taylor around outside of the restaurant whilst everyone else was able to have a nice natter at the table. They are so funny at this age! #Bestandworst xx

Yes to all of them-especially clapping loudly and cheering (I’ve embarrassingly done this in purely adult company a lot more than I should’ve…!) and eating treats at full speed, and panicking if you hear toddler footsteps pattering your way, that you will be caught in the act, and subjected to a long period of whinging for biscuits as penance!!

This is so true! Where ever we go people end up knowing my childs name as I’m constantly saying it as he walks away from me without a care in the world. Hiding and eating is another one, my hubby brought ice cream the other night from the ice cream van and I made him wait outside until I took baby K upstairs to bed before he could come in …. the joys of parenthood! x #bloggerclubuk

The whole biscuit cramming is essential – otherwise they will spot your biscuit & eat it themselves or want their own one. I find myself talking in a different sort of way & try not to do it to adults. lol Thanks so much for joining us at #bloggerclubuk

How much do these ring true? Ha ha! Great post.

It’s an interesting fitness regime too. Pushing the buggy round and chasing the toddler helped me lose about half a stone and I ended up with muscles on my toddler-carrying arm about twice the size.

A lot of things we do that seems odd and weird when we got a toddler, don’t we?! Anyway, your new theme looks really lovely, I love it! #TheBabyFormula

I went out for lunch with my sister the other day, minus toddler, one minute my lunch was there, the next it was gone. Not being the mother to a toddler she didn’t realise it as just a basic survival instinct!! Turns out I’m so used to eating super fast I now no longer savour food. Fab post #TheBabyFormula
