Privacy Policy, cookies and disclosure

New Mummy Blog (www.newmummyblog.com) is my blog, a blog talking about our family life, products we love, our home, garden, holidays and days out. We review items which we have bought ourselves, as well as those we may be compensated for, or received for the purposes of the review. In all cases, the opinions are our own, our own honest opinions. It will always be made clear that we have been sent an item to review or that the post is collaborative/sponsored, often at the bottom of a post, and within the post e.g. “we received”, “we were sent”.

I also host giveaways for products which I love and think, you, my readers may love. These giveaways are hosted in Gleam or Rafflecopter. More on these below.

Firstly, we do not share personal information with third-parties nor do we store information we collect about your visit to this blog for use other than to analyse content performance through the use of cookies, which you can turn off at anytime by modifying your Internet browser’s settings. The ways in which data may be collected are detailed below.

We are not responsible for the republishing of the content found on this blog on other Web sites or media without our permission.

This is a personal blog written and edited by me and as such any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question, and all views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the bloggers’ own.

Leaving a comment

If you have left a comment on a page or blog post your name and email address would have been required to do so. Your visitor IP address would also have been collected.

You also would have been able to leave your website address too if you wished. This would allow users to reach you at the link you used i.e. your own blog address. Website addresses are also used by the commentluv plugin to allow you to either show a link to your most recent blog post, or if you are a subscriber, choose one of your most recent posts to display a link to.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Statistics

I use Jetpack statistics and Google Analytics (like most other websites) to see which posts you love, hate, and how long you spend reading. None of this tells me who you are. Lets, face it, if I didn’t look at where my readers found my blog and posts e.g. did you click on a blog post link in Google, a pin on Pinterest, or see it on Facebook… I wouldn’t know how to let you see them again. To be clear, I do not collect any personal information in this way. Like everything, cookies do this and so, if you do not want this, don’t read… or you may disable cookies in the pop up when you open this blog. By clicking to close the pop up you are saying you are ok with cookies being used.

The Jetpack privacy statement is above. The Google Analytics privacy statement is here – cookies are stored for 38 weeks.

More on Giveaways

On occasion I run giveaways. Giveaways are for products I love and think, you, my readers will love too. If you win a prize, you probably want to receive it, and so I, or the PR/brand who are providing the prize, will need a few contact details for you. I use Gleam or Rafflecopter to run giveaways and they collect information such as IP address and email. In these cases this data is stored by them, and I will only be able to contact the winner(s). I will only provide the winner(s) name/email to the PR, and this fact is also included within the T&Cs of each giveaway.

By entering a giveaway you do agree to this, as the T&C’s are clearly laid out, however, I will always check that the winner is happy for this to happen and ask them to confirm their email address to be passed on.

The Gleam privacy policy is here. I previously used Rafflecopter theres is here.

Affiliate Marketing

This site contains affiliate links, which mean if you purchase something by following a link I post (on the blog or occasionally on my social media channels), I may make a small commission which will not affect the price you pay.

I use Amazon Affiliates, Awin and Affiliate Future. A cookie will be used to track if you made a purchase.

Similarly you will see banner ads, and/or adverts in the sidebar for Amazon/Amazon products. Like with Amazon affiliate links they work by placing a cookie so Amazon can pay me a commission if you do make a purchase after clicking my link.

* This privacy policy, and obviously the privacy and cookie policies included in the links above, may be updated at any time.
