I wrote previously about the Ergobaby Adapt baby carrier and how much we love it, how easy it is to use and how it is brilliant for baby. Unlike other Ergobaby carriers it doesn’t need an insert for a newborn, but crucially and brilliant for parents of two kids, it is suitable up to age 4! Reviewing the Adapt, I mostly talked about newborns so I thought I’d share a few pictures of Toddler H in it, as she is now 39.5 months, i.e. 3 years 3 months old and still LOVES it.

She looks so comfy and safe.

On long walks such as those up the local hills we usually take the Little Life Adventure carrier for her but to be honest we could probably use the Ergobaby Adapt instead. In future going on holiday we plan to take two lightweight carriers: we’ll take the Adapt and the Beco Gemini carrier we already had, but which is very padded. I don’t think the Beco is quite as good as the Ergo, it is also ergonomic, putting baby in that safe ‘M’ shape with their bottom below their knees, but it’s much bulkier. It seems to have a lot more padding which to be honest isn’t an advantage as baby generally gets heat from the person carrying them and well if we’re using it on holiday padding is definitely a disadvantage! Ergobaby do have other carrier models including lightweight mesh carriers which are meant to be cooler, and cooler than the ErgoAdapt which we have.

In terms of being a toddler carrier, I was very surprised at the Ergo Adapt – it is comfy and secure and H loves it, especially as hubby usually carries her while I push Baby B in the pushchair. Hubby was determined that he wanted to put Toddler H in the carrier himself and he can – he mastered the move straight away! So yes, it’s even easy to do, with a 3 year old.

Ergobaby Adapt, 100% recommended for newborns, babies, toddlers and 3 year olds!!

We were sent the Ergobaby Adapt to review in May 2017, but all thoughts and opinions are our own… and at the time of writing this toddler review we’ve now been using the carrier for 9 months with both girls!
