We were recently sent the Leap Frog  Melody the Musical Turtle – a new number learning toy for ages 2+. Perfect for Toddler H.

She loves numbers at the moment and so I was sure this would be a hit.

Melody the Musical Turtle is a well designed toy, it seems very robust and appealing to a two year old. The numbers light up and there are a several games to play. From sequences, colours, to finding certain numbers and making music, it definitely seems like it will progress with her as she progresses through her number learning journey. Don’t get me wrong, she does know her numbers and can recognise them and tell us each one, but Melody does have some speed games which require quick thinking and following instructions too, skills which add on skills, really.

Toddler H loves playing with the “my green turtle”, and is getting really good. We did need to explain and show her some of what to do, even though there are instructions during each game e.g. “press 5“.

A couple of videos showing how Melody works:

Melody has proven a huge hit in our house and I really think it’s a great toy for all 2 year olds. They can learn so much from her games.

It’s also a great price with a RRP of only £14.99, and available from retailers including Amazon (affiliate link*).

Do you have this toy? What do you think?

I love LeapFrog, their toys are always fun yet have an educational element which I love. This looks perfect for learning numbers. #TriedTested

I recently reviewed this Turtle too, it is great fun. I loved playing some of the games myself.
