Ace for Colours review removing stains and reviving clothes for winter

Hasn’t the weather turned so cold suddenly? I can’t believe, it’s now November, but I must say I’m absolutely loving having my snuggly jumpers, huge dressing gown and a new pair of slippers on my feet. Of course that means I’ve been washing all those winter clothes that have been stuffed in a box in the wardrobe… and that box which was stuffed in the spare room, why was it there? I’ve no idea, it might have been washing which got moved upstairs out of the way of visitors. Anyway, luckily we are taking part in the #ACEWinterRefresh challenge… washing our winter clothes in ACE for Colours Powder.

We’ve used ACE stain remover before and loved it. Before I even tried ACE for colours powder, I was very surprised (and pleased) to discover ACE for Colours powder comes in a recyclable plastic-free carton. Absolutely brilliant at a time when we’re all reducing plastic. If it helps refresh my clothes, remove stains and keep colours bright, fresh and clean then that sounds like a real winner. If they last longer, I’ll also be a very happy bunny.

Testing ACE for colours powder

Well, first off I had to try it out. After all the rain our winter waterproofs were already out and well used, so I dug through my winter clothes, pulled out my boots, my snuggliest jumper from last year, my favourite scarf that is many many years old, and raided the girls hat scarf and glove box. Look at B’s grubby gloves! Yes, they’ve been washed but they have been rather well used!

I grabbed my dressing gown, a definite winter staple, and H’s, along with the oven gloves which were waiting very patiently to be washed one day. Warming winter casseroles and lasagnas await us, and I’d like this looking much cleaner…

I popped them all in the washing machine along with my normal detergent and popped the ACE powder in the drawer.

An hour later, fresh, bright clothes emerged. They smelled lovely and fresh. Lovely and clean. B’s gloves weren’t as stained. The oven glove I’d also thrown in nowhere near as stained and everything else, felt snuggly and fresh.

My fluffy dressing gown, is fluffier than ever. Reinvigorated beyond my imagination…. and all on a 1 hour daily wash!

Can I wear it all day??

Final thoughts…

I’ve been really impressed with ACE for Colours Powder and will be using it daily to make sure our clothes are fresher for longer, and last longer. It’ll be a definite winner with school uniforms as we definitely don’t want them fading! Those school jumpers and t-shirts take a huge beating every day! What on earth do they get up to at school… climbing frames aside…
