Little Green Sheep Company Cot Mattress Protector Review - the packaging
We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

We were recently had the chance to try this organic cot mattress protector from The Little Green Sheep. We love it, it’s soft, it works and it really does protect the mattress!

Organic cot mattress protector review:

Well when it arrived, I was taken aback. Why you ask? Well, it was such a lovely package, not the usual plastic cover you usually get, a cardboard box and ribbon handle that had obviously had a lot of thought and care out into it.

This organic cot mattress protector would make a lovely present. Let’s face it no one ever gives such a useful present, it’s always something mummy and daddy have to buy.

It’s a fabulous product, so soft, you’d never believe it was 100% waterproof or specifically designed to provide a barrier from dust-mites! … But it is, here is what their website says about it:

Extra absorbent

100% waterproof, keeping your baby clean and dry

Luxury organic cotton sandwiches a layer of safe food grade polyurethane, absorbing any moisture and wetness rather than letting it pool on the surface

Using a protector helps keep your mattress clean and dry for longer
Anti dust-mite

The protector is flat not fitted, letting your mattress breathe from the sides and underneath, and it also provides a barrier against dust mites”

As I’ve mentioned before, we do love organic products – they’re soft, last and really do fair better than non-organics.

So, now onto my thoughts…

What do I like about it?

1. A perfect fit

We chose the 90 x 120 cot mattress and it just sits perfectly on top of the mattress without any bunching or ripples.

It feels substantial too, I’ve been so please that it’s stayed flat and in-crumpled under little H’s night time wriggles and 90 degree twists and turns, as well as her morning jumping!

This mattress cover comes in so many sizes: for cribs and Moses baskets to bedside cribs too.

2. Well designed

It’s 100% waterproof, an anti-dust mite barrier and allows the mattress to breathe. It’s flat, stays flat and comfy for baby (ok, toddler too).

3. Super soft and organic

I can’t really say how soft this is. I’m not a tree-hugger, but the fact it’s natural and waterproof is impressive!

4. A caring company

Let’s face it a company who uses 100% organic cotton, limits dust-mites and creates such a soft product must care about their customers and little people who use their products.

5. An award winning mattress protector

The Little Green Sheep’s organic cot mattress protector was voted Winner of the GOLD Mother & Baby Award 2016 for Best Sleep Product.

Is there anything I don’t like?

No. It’s a lovely lovely product, and it makes me want to buy everything else they sell, cot sheets, bedding and more! ?I do think at ?28 95 it’s a lot of money, but given that it’s organic, waterproof, so soft and so well thought out, allowing the mattress to breathe and providing a barrier to dust-mites, I would 100% recommend it.?

From using is product I really believe them. It’s lovely to the touch, soft, gentle and thick, it’s also amazing knowing that if and when Baby H next has a sick incident in bed, she will be much better protected. Knowing her mattress will be protected and she can easily go to sleep as quickly as we can clean her up, and that this protector will absorb it all.

I think this is a company who really care about their products, who put untold effort into them and really care for their customers and little babies. This is far superior mattress protector to the ones I’ve previously used and seen. In fact apparently it is useful during the last stages of pregnancy when your huge fear is your waters breaking in bed. This mattress protector will protect even your own bed from that damage.
It does have a slightly steeper price tag than other mattress protectors I’ve used before, but it is organic, and I believe it works amazingly without inhibiting the mattress breathability, and would keep baby H from being soaked in puddles of spilled milk or water or sick.
Verdict: 100% recommended!?

I am amzed it fit very well with out creases and heaps of material left. Our mattresses were awful by the time they had outgrown the cot with all the vomiting and leaky nappies. This would have been a god-send! #triedtested
