I’ve been challenged by Britmums to fill you all in as I try out Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm for dry, cracked, irritated skin.

Every winter my hands feel like they fall apart. They become dry and very flakey. They crack and bleed too often. So when Britmums set this challenge to try Eucerin’s Aquaphor Skin Soothing Balm I was full of hope that this could be my winter saviour! Why? Firstly the package says it ‘helps support skin’s own regeneration process’ and secondly, it also says it is ‘clinically proven to soothe and protect very dry, cracked or irradiated skin’ it sounded like it could be a huge winner for my hands in making them winter ready.

Aquaphor smoothing Skin Balm dry cracked hands review

Obviously it’s only just December and really it’s not been very cold yet so I’ll know how well it’s working in a few months. However after a couple of weeks, it’s brilliant. my hands definitely feel nice, which given he number of times I wash my hands after nappy changes, food cutting (again), and of course cleaning dirty hands. Actually I can’t forget helping B clean her hands as she’s currently obsessed with the sink!

I’ve been using Aquaphor on my hands for a couple of weeks and although is suitable for the whole family I’ve only used it myself so far. I’m sure hubby will be joining in with it too as his hands usually end up horribly cracked in winter too. It currently lives next to the kettle so I can grab it whenever I need it or remember I haven’t had a chance to use it yet today.

The beauty of Aquaphor soothing skin balm is it can be used on the whole family, including babies and their bottoms. I haven’t used it on B as I’m a bit paranoid as she gets very dry patches very easily, but, fingers crossed is currently in a good patch.

Brilliantly Aquaphor is fragrance and preservative free, and only has 7 ingredients.

Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm feels lovely as I put it on, and I like that it’s fragrance free. I’m really not a fan of fragrances, especially baby wipes! Anyway, the crux of the matter? So far it’s working on my hands and so I’m definitely game to keep trying it all winter to see if I can avoid my usual sore cracked ‘winter hands’
