We were very pleased to hear about the From a Mother to Another campaign and support it. Why are we supporting the #MotherToAnother campaign and what is it, I hear you ask?

It’s a campaign From a Mother to Another to…

a) Help “vulnerable Syrian refugee children in Lebanon and families in crisis in the UK and Ireland.”

b) How? JoJo Maman Bebe are working with a number of partner charities to send our old kids clothes to those who need them.

c) And, reduce clothing waste – “nearly a third of the UK’s clothing ends up in landfill – 350,000 tonnes a year!”

  • through this campaign “JoJo Maman Bebe have delivered (and potentially saved from landfill, 60,000 pieces of clothing and over 20,000 pairs of shoes.” That is astronomical!

(quotes from JoJo Maman Bebe/FATMA)

So, what clothes do they need?

JoJo Maman Bebe say: “The partner charities we are working with love the fact that FAMTA emergency clothing packs contain good quality nearly new clothes which may be handed down again and again to those who really need them. By ensuring the clothes can be passed down, we are reducing the waste emitted manufacturing the clothes, and reducing our carbon footprint while getting the clothes to those who need them.”

So, really it’s a simple concept:

  1. sort out your kids old clean clothes which are in good condition and don’t have defects/stains/marks
  2. clothes for ages 0-6 years
  3. bundle them together in to matching sets/outfits  – 4 items that are specific size and suitable for a specific gender and size.

The From a Mother to Another campaign (#MothertoAnother) is different as, by collecting outfits which are really good quality, the hope is that the clothes can be handed down time and time again once they reach their destination. So, as an example a child in Lebanon can wear the outfit, followed by their sister, then their cousin etc. etc.

Isn’t that a great concept?

As a thank you if you donate 2 or more outfits, JoJo Maman Bebe will give you a £5 voucher, valid on a £35 spend (one voucher per customer). How lovely is that?

How to take part?

All JoJo Maman Bebe boutiques will be collecting your clothes bundles, or you can deliver them directly to their Welsh warehouse if you’re close by.

The campaign is taking place between 22nd February – 26th March 2017.

As we all know, babies and toddlers grow out of clothes at record speed. We have bags and bags of clothes that Toddler H has grown out of, bags and bags that I’m not sure Baby #2 will be wearing. So, I’m looking forward to having a huge sort out and making up some very very gorgeous outfits to donate.

This is also a perfect time for that spring clean and huge organisation project we’ve been in need of… I’m sure I’m not alone in that either.

I hope you’ll be able to join in and spread the word about the From A Mother to another campaign as well? Please please share this post to raise awareness. I’ll also be sharing frequently on my Facebook and Instagram… so shares there too will help raise awareness as the campaign is only open for a short amount of time.
