My 2015 review / 6 months of blogging?

2015 has been the year I started blogging so here is a little summary of how’s it’s gone.

New mummy blog review of 2015 6 months of blogging

Almost 6 months of blogging has flown by. I love writing and love that now I’m a newly SAHM I have something to concentrate on and use my brain for. Don’t get me wrong, being a SAHM is hard work, it’s non-stop (esp with a baby who doesn’t really nap!), but I love being a mummy and wouldn’t have chosen to become a SAHM if I didn’t. So really this has been a year of changes, not only resigning from work, but also we moved house to our ‘possibly forever home’ – aka I can’t face moving for a long long time house (you can read about my moving house tips here).

So, let’s get reviewing! Since starting to blog I have…

Found lovely communities of like minded bloggers: I love the community on Twitter and in the Linkys I love. Big shout outs to #KCACOLS, #BestandWorst, #TheList, #abitofeverything and of course #Coolmumclub.

Loved blogging life: I didn’t appreciated when I started blogging how I’d get sucked in, how I’d read so many amazing blogs each week. How I’d be looking forward to reading posts and commenting. I did for a while get too bogged down and a bit stressed, so I’m going to be linking up a bit less in the new year, and will stick with a few main Linkys, and take part in others less regularly (I’ll still pop by, but I don’t want to be scrimping of scanning posts!)

Received recognition: I was flabbergasted to be Mum Blogger of the Week by Mummy Pages in October, just 3 months after I started blogging, and, was very happy to be included in Tots100 Good Reads in November too. But seriously every time mumsnet, netmums, Tots100 RTs one of my posts I’m on cloud 9!

Written a few reviews – Ume One pushchair, Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine, Ewan the Dream Sheep to name a few. Writing reviews was one of he reasons I started this blog, I always look for ‘real’ reviews before buying anything, and so thought I could just throw my oar into the water too.

Dived into social media: I’ve enjoyed growing my Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram followers, and becoming part of these communities…. Now I just need some Facebook love (begs selflessly, help me please!) ?:-)

Started my own linky: #TheBabyFormula, we have a lovely community and amazing blogs linking up each week. Seriously most posts are welcome 🙂 ?your posts where something is 100% or 2/10, your posts with a funny formula (baby + spag bol = bathtime!), or any number-y posts… Think 11 Things About Me or 10 Reasons I Hate Mondays!

Found several favourite bloggers: here are my absolute favourite blogs, the ones I click through to straight away:

  1. Mum Muddling Through
  2. Reimer and Ruby
  3. Run Jump Scrap
  4. A Moment With Franca
  5. Mum In Brum
  6. Becoming A Stay At Home Mum
  7. Laura’s Lovely Blog
  8. You Baby Me Mummy
  9. This Lady Writes
  10. Beauty Baby Me
  11. All The Beautiful Things
  12. Confessions of a Crummy Mummy

I really love all these blogs, please stop by and check them all out if you can 🙂

Of course a blog is about writing, so here are my top 5 blog posts based on views:

  1. Tongue-Tie Nightmare
  2. 6 Things Only A Parent Would Say
  3. 8am Mummies, How Do You Do It?
  4. 11 Things To Do On Maternity Leave/Just Before Baby Arrives
  5. 6 Ways To Have A Hot Cup Of Tea

Of course views, are one thing, but three of my favourites are missing from that list. They are:?The Baby Led Weaning Coefficient, What Being a Parent REALLY Means & The Nap Time Poem

New mummy blog6 ways to have a hot cup of tea

I was going to write my 2016 aims here too, but I think that’s quite enough for one blog post! And more importantly, I’ve just had a whiff of a rather smelly nappy #joysofmummyhood

Thank you so much for being such loyal readers and coming back time and time again, I really appreciate every click, every view and every single comment (I will get on top of replying to all comments again, sorry),

Wishing you and yours all the best for 2016,

Lynne xx

Great post lynne. I’ve only recently got seriously into blogging. Found the vast array of linkys mind blowing. Will definitely check out the ones you shouted out. Heard of #kcacol but not the other 2. You’ve achieved a lot in 6 months. Well done you.
