Happy List 19 – sun, painting, dinner out

Happy List

I’m sharing two weeks of happy as I’m not really sure what happened to last week’s. These last few weeks are flying by, I’m now 39 weeks pregnant, something I’ve never been before as H was born just after midnight on the day I turned 39 weeks.

So here is my two weeks of happy, and I hope my last before we add Baby into the mix!

1. Sun & garden

We spent loads of time in the garden last week and I got some planting done, while hubby finished the patio. It still needs gravel edging, the wall clad in decking and the grass to grow back in a few places but it’s brilliant. He’s done an amazing job and as you can see from this picture, it’s perfect for Toddler H.

Yes, sometimes I struggled with the heat, but I guess that’s the perils of being pregnant at this time of year!

2. Hair colour

I waited to dye my hair again, going as close as I dared to baby due date. I love having less grays again!

Dear baby, I'd greatly appreciate it if you didn't do any of the following for at least the next hour: 1. Decide it's time for my waters to go 2. Decide contractions sound fun 3. Go for the 'it's time to clear out your system ready for labour option' I just want to dye my hair nicely and have a nice shower as daddy has taken you big sister to the shop so I have peace and quiet. Thank you, love, Mummy P.S. Don't get me wrong we can't wait to meet you very very soon, just please not in the next hour, mummy needs some breathing time after all this 3am 3rd-trimester-insomnia malarkey xxxx #37weekspregnant #3rdtrimester #babydueanytime #mummy #mummytobe #mummytobeagain #hairdye #exhausted #insomnia #preggo #pregnant #pregnancy #pregnantmama #ukparentbloggers #ukparentingblogger #coolmumclub #rockingmummylife #pinklinker #ukpbloggers #bbloggers #ukbblogger #clairol #clairolniceneasy

3. Hospital bags

We put our bags in the car last weekend and also the car seat in. There’s nothing like a good few hours of regular times contractions to give you a push in the ‘get stuff actually ready’ stakes.

4. Friends

We’ve got amazing friends, but they’ve been just so so supportive these last couple of weeks. It’s been amazing, and it’s lovely how H just asks to play with them day after day, and does her little “ohhhhh 😞” sulk when we’re not seeing them. Actually this morning she cried because she was convinced she should be going to play at her friend B’s house. She was so so so upset.

 5. Painting & Play-Doh

Painting and play-doh have crept back in to or daily play again this week. I love how H concentrates so hard at both. Fingers crossed it continues when baby arrives, especially if baby cluster feeds every morning like H did (I really hope not!).

6. Blogging friends

After my midwife appointment today I’m very grateful to all the lovely friends who commented on my argghh midwife and how do I get this baby properly moving post. Your support and advice really helped me see the light and not be quite as frustrated – thank you!!

7. Baby prep

We moved the Chicco Next2Me crib to our room and it’s all ready for baby. It looks so comfy for her, I can’t wait to see her in it.

We also received some very awesome toys from the Bkids range for baby, though I totally see H playing with them before long!

How awesome are these sensory #toys by @bkidsuk that we've been sent for Baby #2?! @bumppr H is desperate to play with them too (and she's 2.5!) πŸ˜‚ I think she'll be trying them out for baby tomorrow! The turtle at the top does shape sorting and ejects the shapes, also has voices and sounds, and does shapes and colours too! The sensory ball set look great for encouraging movement and colours too. And, the robot, well I love him! He's interactive and has melodies, sounds and light effects, but also has facial expressions and is motion activated! This baby is very lucky, but might have competition from her big sister!! πŸ˜€ . . . . . . . #bumppr #bkids #toys #sensorytoys #babytoys #toddlertoys #6monthold #thismamaloves #presents #babypresent #newbornpresent #gifts #babysensory #shapesorting #robot #robottoy

8. Family time

We went for yummy dinner at Frankie and Bennys last weekend as we figured it had a good kids menu. They were fantastic with Toddler H and I thoroughly recommend their Cheltenham branch if you’re out with kids. She even got a balloon – a sure winner for ever toddler!

Have a lovely week all, I’m hoping baby arrives this weekend… And not many other plans other than waking, bouncing and seeing how many curries or hot foods we can eat,

Lynne X

Sounds like you’ve had a busy week. So great that you’ve got everything ready to go when the time finally comes. Hopefully baby doesn’t keep you waiting too much longer x
