I just had to post this picture of my cheeky toddler…  Our childproofing being expertly ‘tweaked’…childproofing - the toddler getting the better of the magnetic childlocks

(Sorry, Brummy Mummy of Two, it’s not a tantrum #WickedWednesday this week, it’s a cheeky monkey with uncanny instincts!)

We’ve had these magnetic cupboard locks for less than a week, and immediately the following morning I wondered why this one didn’t work any more. Turns out the toddler knew exactly what to do to stop it being child proof. She had a quick ooooooh what’s this the second I had opened the cupboard. Turns out she’d flipped the switch that turns it off!

So now, every single day she waits for me to open each cupboard and as I take whatever it is out she flips the switch and closes the door. She SUCH a cheeky monkey. I can’t believe how quickly she instantly knew.

I do try to catch her out and turn it off, but she knows she just checks and wanders off. Or, spends ages flipping the switch back and forth and ALWAYS leaves it unlocked. Nothing gets by this monkey. NOTHING. Do you see why I’m shattered every night?

Apart from the toddler cheeky monkey-ness, these locks are AMAZING. No more attempting to jam you fingers in the teeny gap to do the leaver. They are also VERY simple to add to your kitchen – just stick them in place. Easy childproofing is definitely a plus in my book!

PS. I will try to get a video of this, but she’s SOOOOOOO quick, I can’t open the cupboard and grab the camera or phone quick enough, I can’t even be holding it and turn it in the right direction quick enough.

PPS. I do thoroughly recommend these locks for childproofing your kitchen quickly and easily!

That is very cheeky, we don’t use child safety locks on our cupbords and Logan has always been really good and doesn’t go in the cupboards unless we tell him which one to open. We also have a stair gate on our kitch door way so he can’t go in there unattended. #bestandworst

mine took about a second to figure out the latch on our “child proof” baby gates also. I ended up having to screw them into the walls and we spent six months climbing over every time we needed to leave the room #bestandworst

Ooh what brand are they? The link just takes me to Amazon but there’s lots I’d different ones. My 8mo is obsessed with opening drawers in the TV cabinet, so I’ve been meaning to get some, and your post just reminded me
